Neanche il tempo di terminare le prove di SUP che si cambierà palcoscenico e le pagaie lasceranno il posto alle magnifiche vele dei campioni di Formula Kite! Dal 24 al 29 settembre l’Open Water Challenge ospiterà infatti il Formula Kite European Championship. L’atleta da battere sarà sicuramente il Campione del Mondo, il francese Nico Parlier, ma a dargli battaglia, tra i tanti campioni in arrivo a Torregrande, sarà lo sloveno Toni Vodisek. A soli 19 anni ha già vinto le prime due tappe della KiteFoil World Series, andata in scena a Gizzeria (Italia) e Weifang (Cina). “Per questa decima edizione dell’Open Water Challenge abbiamo deciso di fare le cose in grande, allungare la durata della manifestazione ed organizzare due kermesse di respiro internazionale – ha dichiarato Eddy Piana, organizzatore della manifestazione – la concomitanza con ‘Oristano Città Europea dello Sport 2019’ ci è stata favorevole. Ci ha permesso di offrire alla città e a tutto il territorio uno spettacolo sportivo che raramente si riesce a vedere. Lo sforzo organizzativo per essere all’altezza della situazione è stato notevole ma siamo certi che la bellezza dell’evento ci ripagherà di ogni sforzo”. “Il livello tecnico di queste competizioni sarà altissimo – ha aggiunto Sergio Cantagalli, event manager dell’Open Water Challenge – l’EuroTour è da anni garanzia di grande spettacolo con campioni in arrivo da tutta Europa mentre l’inserimento del kiteboard tra le classi veliche che prenderanno parte ai prossimi Giochi Olimpici di Parigi 2024 sta attirando sempre più attenzione su questa disciplina.
