A’s Youth Foils, unfortunately on Sunday on the day of the finals the wind did not allow the youngsters to compete and they could not take to the water, so Switzerland’s Gian Andrea Stragiotti was crowned world champion ahead of last year’s winner, Poland’s Jan Koszowski, while bronze went to Poland’s Jakub Balewicz. Among the girls, the title went to Poland’s Karolina Jankowska.
The Youth Foil class is less than two years old, but is constantly growing and represents an excellent entry opportunity for young riders wishing to make the transition to high-performance Formula Kite.
Torregrande nailed it
Despite light winds on the last day, Torregrande, on the west coast of Sardinia, offered excellent foiling conditions throughout the competition. The youth foiling calendar is becoming increasingly busy. The next events are the Grand Prix in Campione in June and the European Championships in Gizzeria in July.
