TORREGRANDE, DAY 3
EUROPEAN FORMULA KITE: FIERCE BATTLE TO THE LAST METER BETWEEN PIANOSI AND HUANG. WOMEN: PEGOURIE MAINTAINS LEAD, DAMASIEWICZ ADVANCES
WORLD MASTERS: ROMANO AND GIANNINI AMONG THE TOP TEN ITALIANS

Marina di Torregrande – A fierce battle to the last meter continues between Chinese representative Qbin Huang and Italian Riccardo Pianosi in the waters of Torregrande, as the two compete in the Formula Kite Youth European Championship’s gold fleet, race after race.

Divided into two fleets, gold and silver, the 44 athletes have completed three races each. Today’s rankings see China, Italy, and the Czech Republic with Vojtech Koska in the lead.

In the silver fleet, Italy maintains control of the rankings on the third day with seventeen-year-old Angelo Soli, who is six points ahead of Swiss competitor Cedric Baker and seven points ahead of fellow Italian Giuseppe Paolillo.

After three days of racing, French athlete Heloise Pegourie continues to hold onto her first-place position, seven points ahead of Polish competitor Julia Damasiewicz, who made a comeback today and secured second place ahead of Lysa Chaval, also from Team France.

The battle intensifies as we approach the final rush, with plenty of opportunities still available during the final stages on May 27th and 28th.

The situation is more defined in the rankings for the over 35 participants in the Kitefoil Open Masters World Championship. French competitor Billy Guy-Maupas remains in the lead, three points ahead of Turkish competitor Ejder Ginyol, and twenty points ahead of Danish competitor James Johnsen. Two Italians remain in the top ten: Simone Romano in fifth place, followed by Alessandro Giannini. Leading among women and in eighteenth place overall is Thai competitor Benyapa Jantawan.

The third day ended early, just like the second day, due to the threat of a disturbance that occurred around 4:30 PM. The races started late due to the instability of the wind, but the Maestrale wind arrived at 2:30 PM, allowing the race committee to complete the program.

Worldwide Live Broadcast. The final stages, which will take place in the waters of Torregrande, will be broadcast worldwide through the Formula Kite’s web and social media channels, with the commentary provided in English.

Concerts and DJ Sets. The grand sporting event will also feature three evenings of music entertainment. On Friday, May 26th, the Big Mama will perform at the Eolo Ristobar. On Saturday, May 27th, the Carovana Folk will take the stage, and on the evening of Sunday, May 28th, DJ Sandro Azzena will be spinning the records to conclude this grand event.

Awards Ceremony. The winners will be honored on the stage located in the World Village, on the beach of Torregrande. The awards ceremony will take place on Sunday, May 28th, starting at 5:00 PM. Please note that the timing may be subject to changes depending on the progress of the races.
